Summary:

Honda Toru lost both of her parents, so she lived alone in a tent because she didn't want to be a burden for her family. One day on the way to school she stopped by a japanese-styled house to watch the strange stones carved with the silhouette of the twelve chinese zodiac's animals. While watching them, she coincidentally met the owner of the house, Shigure Soma, who started telling her a story about those animals, saying that once upon a time there was a party all the animals had to attend but the mouse tricked the cat, so that the cat was not be able to go to the party, thus resulting in the absence of cat in the twelve zodiac. Listening to that story Honda said that she wants to change her sign of the zodiac and become a cat, but suddenly a boy comes out from the house. His name is Yuki Soma, the most popular guy in Honda's school. They decide to go to school together and during the afternoon Yuki and Shigure follow Honda because they want to know where she lives. Discovering that her house is a tent, they invited her to have a tea with them to talk about her situation, but in the meanwhile her tent house was buried by a landslide. Honda didn't know what to do, so Shigure told Honda she can live with them as an housekeeper. She is really glad and she thanks them. But while she is talking with Shigure and Yuki, a red hair boy, Kyo Soma, arrives and unfortunately he changes his human form right in front of Honda's eyes.

Honda later finds out that Soma's family has a secret. The members of the family are cursed and they transform into one of the twelve animals of the chinese zodiac whenever a human of the opposite sex touches them. Kyo transforms into a cat, Yuki into a mouse and Shigure into a dog. Why are they cursed? Who are the other members of the family?
