Summary: Onozuka Yura is the shy and unassuming daughter of a celebrity couple. Her father is an award-winning composer, while her mother is a famous actress with a glamorous image. Because of her parents, people expect Yura to be musically talented and outgoing, but she is none of these things. Yura's world is torn apart the day her mother arrives home to announce she is divorcing Yura’s father. In short order Yura discovers that not only does her father have a mistress, but her mother has a lover of her own, Yura's own crush/tutor! And now with the divorce in the works they will be moving in together, leaving Yura with nowhere to go. Heartbroken and angry, Yura tries to mar her mother's flawless media image by throwing out shocking words about her parents to the paparazzi hordes waiting outside her home. Her show of spunk catches the eye of Mizorogi Keiichi, a well-known talent scout, also a former employee of her father's. He sees potential in her and makes her an offer she can't refuse; he offers her a place to stay in exchange for becoming an actress and the chance to beat her mother at her own game. Of course, this being a Miki Aihara series, there is a full complement of bishies/potential love interests that Yura meets while trying to become an actress. The highlights: Minamitani Q-ta (aka: Ash A) - This singer-songwriter has Yura re-considering her hatred of all things musical, yet she doubts Q-ta's kindness. Q-ta idolizes her father, Onozuka Takayuki. Does he really like her? Or does he just see Yura as a way of becoming closer to his idol? Minamitani Haruka - The younger Minamitani twin is the lead singer of the wildly popular boy band, The Knights. His charismatic on-stage persona is nothing like the rude arrogant boy Yura meets. Haruka feels a rivalry with his brother, and first sees Yura as an opportunity to get to Q-ta. Mizorogi Keiichi - Yura's young manager is admired by his peers, and feared by the paparazzi as a force to be reckoned with. His sometimes ruthless efforts are all in the name of Yura’s career, or are they? Perhaps Mizorogi's feelings for his client go beyond the merely professional? If you're familiar with Miki Aihara's other works, then you know her stories are the stuff of guilty pleasures, and this one is no exception. Even though this story runs in Cheese! don't expect too much in the way of smut, thus far there is very little of it. There are currently three volumes out in Japan, with a fourth on its way in December/January. (Written by Rebecca)
