Ayumi's family is well known for being good at kendo.
On her first day of high school, Ayumi meets a group of
guys on the street. Some of them are asking for money
from another boy, but he refuses, which makes the guys
angry. When they try to beat him, he defends himself using
ken do technique. Ayumi recognizes that this guy is skilled
at kendo and is also very fierce.
At school, Ayumi makes friends with two girls from her
class and during lessons, she discovers that the boy sitting
next to her and sleeping is actually the kendo boy she
met in the morning.
After class Ayumi goes to the kendo club to join. She
is shocked when she arrives there. Boys are reading or
playing instead of practicing. An old man appears saying
that he is the consultant for the club. Ayumi tells him
she wants to become the manager, but the old man tells
her that the department was abandoned six years ago, even
though it used to be strong.
Ayumi is determined to revive the club. The members of
the club are happy to have the cheerful Ayumi as the manager.
Ayumi believes that the club needs to find more members,
so she decides to ask Muto, the kendo boy, to join it.
In exchange she receives a "who are you?" from
Muto. Ayumi explains the situation, but Muto refuses to
join the club. Ayumi is not going to give up.
She goes up to the school's roof and finds Muto practicing
Kendo by himself. After a broken statue and an angry teacher,
she finally manages to persuade Muto to join the club
and become the new coach. He acts cold toward others,
but he really has a sweet heart, and Ayumi knows what
Muto is really like. She is glad to be with him.
